Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Liverpool are in talks to bring Divock Origi to Anfield this month.
The Belgian youngster signed with the Reds for £10million in the summer before being loaned back to Lille for the remainder of the season.
But with Daniel Sturridge out and Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli failing to fire Kop boss Rodgers is keen to for more firepower to his misfiring front line.
"There have been discussions," said Rodgers when asked if the club were trying to cut short his loan and bring him to the club before the February 2 deadline.
"He's a player that will definitely be here next summer. Whether he'll be here or not in January is something that there has been discussion [about].
"But there is nothing to report on it. The agreement with Lille was for him to stay there. So we'll see how that works.
