Manchester United have been tipped to make a £20m move for Everton defender Seamus Coleman, according to reports.
Louis van Gaal is believed to be determined to add to his squad in this month’s transfer window, with his defence having especially been hit by a series of injuries already this term.
And according to the Guardian, Everton’s Coleman tops Van Gaal’s wish-list, after an impressive start to the campaign.
United could make a £20m offer for the 26-year-old this month, but are said to be more confident of sealing a deal in the summer.
Van Gaal has already indicated he is unsure of the quality of Rafael, having left him out of the 3-0 victory over Liverpool in December.
‘Rafael is not injured. Last week he was fit but I have to select [on merit],’ he said.
Coleman has proved important for the Toffees in attack as well as defence this season, scoring three goals and providing several assists.
