Robben blasted on Twitter after diving during Bayern Champions League win over City

Arjen Robben became the talk of social media on Wednesday when the Bayern Munich winger dived just minutes after being substituted on in the club’s Champions League victory against Manchester City.

The Netherlands international – who has a reputation of going to ground easily – was captured diving in the box shortly after coming on in the 76th minute as the score remained goalless.

With there appearing to be little to no contact on Robben from Fernandinho, fans quickly took to Twitter to mock the Bayern forward for his antics at the Allianz Arena.
Pep Guardiola’s side went on to win the Champions League clash 1-0 after former City defender, Jerome Boateng, unleashed a superb half-volley in the 90th minute, which deflected off Mario Gotze’s back and past Joe Hart into the top corner.

The narrow defeat leaves City third in Group E after one match played so far – with Roma top of the table after thrashing CSKA Moscow 5-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.
