Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has quickly gotten involved in his new side’s intense rivalry with Manchester United – after trolling Louis van Gaal’s team following their 5-3 loss to Leicester City on Sunday.
The Red Devils were on their way to a victory at the King Power Stadium when Robin van Persie, Angel di Maria and Ander Herrera had seemingly rendered Leonardo Ulloa’s 18th-minute strike useless by giving The Red Devils a 3-1 lead.
But, the home side turned the clash on its head when David Nugent converted his penalty in the 62nd minute before Esteban Cambiasso, Jamie Vardy and Ulloa’s 83rd-minute spot-kick handed Leicester a famous victory over United.
And it seems that the chance to poke fun at the rivals of Liverpool – and indeed the rivals of his former club Manchester City – was too much for Balotelli after the striker took to Twitter to troll Van Gaal’s men.
The 24-year-old wrote: ‘Man utd … LOL’.
Despite the light-hearted nature of his tweet, Balotelli unfortunately received several abusive and racist messages in response to the social media post.
