Arsenal target Angel Di Maria unsure of his future at Real Madrid

Arsenal Transfer News: Angel Di Maria Admits Real Madrid Future Is Uncertain

Arsenal target Angel Di Maria has admitted he is unsure of his future at Real Madrid despite impressing last season as Los Blancos won the Champions League.

The 26-year-old winger is currently at the World Cup in Brazil with the Argentina squad while speculation continues as to whether he will still be at the Bernabeu next season.

As reported by Veronica Brunati of Marca, the player has asked his agent not to keep him in the loop about potential talks concerning his future:

I've asked my agent not to tell me anything about the talks he's having. I don't know what's going to happen with my career. I don't want to know anything about my future right now. I'm focusing on my national team and not on what's going on elsewhere.
As well as the Gunners, the Argentine has also been the subject of interest from Serie A champions Juventus and Monaco, with reports suggesting he may be allowed to leave for £40 million, per Nick Lustig in the Daily Star.

The rumours of Di Maria's departure from Real are somewhat baffling considering the quality he showed consistently last season.

In La Liga and the Champions League, he provided a combined total of 22 assists while scoring seven goals, per WhoScored.com.

The fact that he managed to stand out in a team that includes superstars Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo is a testament to his quality, and his Champions League final performance was outstanding, per Squawka:

Thus, if Real do indeed wish to move him on, Arsenal would do incredibly well to snap him up, even at £40 million.

Arsene Wenger's side need greater quality and depth in attack, and Di Maria would provide an impetus often missing from the Gunners' performances last season. His creativity would be a huge asset.

Wenger has often shied away from spending too big on players, but he broke that trend to sign Di Maria's former teammate Mesut Ozil last season.

He should do so again to bring in Di Maria who would help Arsenal to compete both domestically and in Europe in the 2014-15 season.
