The 23-year-old Belgium striker said: "It is my favourite number and is one I am used to wearing for the national team. I hope it brings me a lot of luck in the future."

Eden Hazard has revealed he will wear the number 10 shirt for Chelsea next season.

The Belgium international striker , who is a transfer target of Paris St Germain, will switch from the number 17 shirt he has worn since joining the club two years ago.

Hazard, 23, told Chelsea's official website: "I am very pleased to be able to wear the number 10 for Chelsea.

"It is my favourite number and is one I am used to wearing for the national team, as well as the one worn by some of my heroes from when I was a kid, like Zinedine Zidane. 

"I hope it brings me a lot of luck in the future and I look forward to the fans seeing me in it next season."

Spain international Juan Mata, who quit Chelsea for Manchester United in a £37.1 million move in January, previously wore the number 10 shirt at Stamford Bridge.

It has also been worn by Yossi Benayoun and Joe Cole in recent years.
