Liverpool's Luis Suarez is now worth at least £79 million - making him the third most the third most valuable footballer in the world, according to a new report.
Only Barcelona star Lionel Messi, with a 'starting price of £161.5 million and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, worth at least £85.2m, are valued more highly in the study, compiled by the Switzerland-based CIES Football Observatory.
This think tank has detailed knowledge of the prices paid in thousands of transfers to ‘Big 5’ divisions over recent years, and have now published their annual review of players - including their market values.
According to the Daily Mail, the price tag of each player is worked out after considering a range of variables including age, the length of contract remaining, position and international experience.
After a stunning season at Anfield, Uruguay forward Suarez, 27, is now valued at between £79.4 million and £92.3 million.
He cost Liverpool £22.8 million from Ajax in January 2011 and in recent days has been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester United, who are said to be ready to bid £65 million.
Chelsea's Belgium star Eden Hazard, 23, is reckoned to be worth at least £61.2, making him the fourth most valuable man on the list.
The Blues paid around half that sum for his services two years ago.
The top 10 is completed by Paul Pogba of Juventus, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, PSG's Edinson Cavani and Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze.
Four England players make the top 20: Wayne Rooney, Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley and Daniel Sturridge.
The most valuable of the four is Sterling at £31.2 million, then Barkley (£29.7 million), then Rooney (£29.6 million) and lastly Sturridge (£29.4 million).
