The sale of Luiz to PSG would help Mourinho raise funds for high-profile strikers such as Atletico's Diego Costa
David Luiz could be set to swap Chelsea for Paris Saint-Germain in what would be a world record transfer fee for a defender.
The Chelsea defender has been heavily linked with a big money move to Barcelona this summer, but reports emerging late last night suggested that PSG have stolen a march for Luiz's signature.
PSG are ready to pay Chelsea close to £50million for the 27-year-old Brazilian defender, and that the deal will go through in the next 48 hours, being finalised before Luiz heads to this summer's World Cup.
The deal would see David Luiz playing for the club that were dumped out of this year's Champions League quarter-finals by Chelsea, in a fixture that saw him clash with PSG striker Edinson Cavani.
But it is thought that with the signing of Matic, and with Chelsea having already signed young French defender Kurt Zouma, Mourinho would be happy to sell David Luiz in order to raise money for a move for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.
