Real Madrid tracking Raheem Sterling as Angel Di Maria replacement

Wanted man: Sterling's impressive World Cup displays have caught the eye of Real Madrid

Here's our wrap of all the latest Liverpool transfer stories from today's papers and across the web...

Luis Barca-bound?

Barcelona have joined the race to sign Luis Suarez , writes John Cross.

Barca now feel the time is right to prise Suarez away from Anfield, even though he signed a new £180,000-a-week contract last summer.

They see him as the centre point of their rebuilding plans under new boss Luis Enrique, with him being one of a deadly front three at the Nou Camp along with Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Real Madrid also sounded out Suarez’s agent Pere Guardiola and they too think they can tempt him to Spain this summer.

Sterling the Real deal?

Favourite son: Rodgers is not likely to let Sterling leave Anfield without a fight

Raheem Sterling was perhaps the only bright spot from England's dismal World Cup campaign.

And it appears the 19-year-old's impressive international displays have caught the eye of some of Europe's biggest names.

According to Fichajes.net Real Madrid are closely monitoring the fleet-footed winger as a possible replacement for Angel Di Maria.

Despite a career year Di Maria is rumoured to be on his way and Sterling could be in line to fill his boots.

Liverpool are unlikely to countenance any move for one of their brightest stars with Brendan Rodgers keen to build his young and emerging side around the young midfielder.

Alberto deal back on?

The Reds are back in talks over top summer target Alberto Moreno , according to the Liverpool Echo.

Despite reports that a £16m fee had been agreed it is believed Sevilla have hiked the price once more and are angling for closer to £20m.

Rodgers is a big fan of the player and negotiations are still underway to bring the 21-year-old to Anfield.

That said, alternatives are being eyed.

Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand and Argentina defender Marcos Rojo are also in the frame should a deal for Moreno collapse.
