Song emerge as surprise transfer target for Chelsea

Chelsea 'want to add THIS man to their midfield, club are pondering a £10m bid'

Alex Song has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Chelsea.

The 27-year-old is on a season-long loan at West Ham United from Barcelona, but it is understood the club will not be taking up the option to sign the Cameroon international on a permanent deal this summer and have subsequently informed the Catalan giants of their intentions.

And, according to Spanish publication Sport, it has paved the way for London rivals the Blues to ponder a £10million move for the former Arsenal man.

It is suggested boss Jose Mourinho would see Song as back up to midfield pair Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic.

Song is said to be keen to remain in London, therefore, a switch to Stamford Bridge could be seen as an attractive proposition.
